Northwoods Wild Rice
Fixings:
1-1/2 cups uncooked wild rice, washed
4 cups water
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup spread, cubed
4 cuts bacon, diced
1 little onion, hacked
1/2 cup celery, cut
1/2 cup cut new mushrooms
Prepared salt to taste
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup salted cashews
Bearings:
Place rice, water and salt in a weighty pot. Heat to the point of boiling. Decrease hotness to stew; cook 45 minutes or until delicate. Uncover and cushion with a fork. Stew for 5 extra minutes. Channel any fluid. While rice is cooking, broil bacon until fresh. Channel on paper towels. In a skillet, dissolve margarine and saute onion, celery and mushrooms until delicate. Add rice, prepared salt and pepper. Heat through. Not long prior to serving, top with cashews and held bacon.
For a make-ahead dish, place cooked rice combination in a 2-qt. meal; top with cashews and bacon. Refrigerate until prepared to warm. Heat at 350° for 20-30 minutes. Cool. Partake in the Northwoods Wild Rice plans !!!
